Week 3: Organizational Structures

Organizational structures are the outline of how tasks are divided, grouped or coordinated within an organization, structures are important for the day to day running of a club or organisation, as referred to in Sports Management (2009) this reading also suggests six key factors to designing these structures.
1.       Work specialization
2.       Departmentalization
3.       Chain of command
4.       Span of control
5.       Centralization
6.       Formalization
Structures are forever changing hoping to achieve better results and outcomes for example the NRL has appointed a new leadership team to deal with some highly criticized refereeing structures that previously existed.
